General Description

The Duct Fan Coil is designed to meet and exceed the demanding requirements for efficiency and quiet operation.

Structure

The structure is made from heavy gauge galvanized steel panels with couplings for the connection of ducting and a gravity drain pan with insulation for condensation. Fire resistant insulation is optional for internal case to provide both thermal and acoustic insulation. Insulation is also fitted on the top of coil.

Condensate Pans

Positive sloped drain pans are steel with powder finish, coated with self-extinguishing closed cell expanded polyethylene with thermal properties. The drain pan outlet is 3/4” (standard on the same side of coil connections).

Coils

Constructed with seamless copper tubes and headers. The tubes are mechanically expanded into corrugated aluminum fin material for a permanent primary to secondary surface bond. Coils are tested at 25 bar (363 psi) and recommended for operating at 8 bar (116 psi). Coils include manual air vent and water purge valves.

Fan section

Fan shall be direct drive – impeller of centrifugal double inlet double width type, constructed from galvanized steel, dynamically and statically balanced. All Direct Drive Horizontal Units have Fan motor of 3-speed, 220V-240V, single phase, 50Hz/60Hz, permanent split-capacitor with ball bearing and build-in automatic reset thermal overload protection. The motor’s insulation is class B and IP20 as standard. Class F and IP44 is as optional. All Units have features that include quick disconnect motor connections with removable fan(s)/motor(s) for service. Standard Electrical component include externally mounted electrical junction box for field wiring terminations.

Filtration

Standard filter is easily removable and washable and is made from self-extinguishing acrylic with an efficiency of class G2 (EU2) (Merv 2-4).

Flexible Function Control (iFCU-EC-W3 type)—A 230VAC signal from the thermostat which working power is from L and N or from indoor room to terminal H/M/L supplies power to the blower motor. Alarm interlock relay for unit failure notification is constructed. Normally open or normally closed contacts are available for field connection.

Microprocessor controls (EC-S3/EC-S8 type)

The main design features include:
~ 2-pipe, 2-pipe with booster electric heat, 2-pipe with primary electric heat, 4-pipe with 6 way valve installed. ~ Cool, Heat, Auto, Dehumidifier and Fan modes.
~ Sleep, Auto-Fan, Daily Timer, Auto-Restart with memory functions.
~ User friendly remote control handset.
~ Heat and cool temperature protections and safety cut out.
~ 2-way and 3-way on/off or modulating valve control.
~ Wired wall pad controller (optional)
~ Manual control panel in cabinet.
~ Auxiliary switch for cooling and heating signal.
~ Occupancy (remote on/off) contacts / economy mode contacts.
~ Open Modbus communication protocol.

Variable water flow system

The water flow through the fan coil is controlled by a temperature difference between the flow and return pipework – referred to as Δt,to ensure the correct heat transfer from the water to the air. Constant Δtkeeptheunitrunningefficiency and consequently the whole life running costs of the system.
